Course Description
Grammar is an increasingly important part of the teaching of reading and writing, but it is an area where many teachers lack confidence in their subject and pedagogical knowledge. ‘Traditional’ approaches to teaching grammar have been shown to have little or no impact on children’s reading and writing. This full day course will secure teachers’ understanding of grammar and will introduce approaches and strategies for teaching which will both engage learners in the way language works and help them to improve their reading and writing, as well as preparing them for the KS2 GPaS teat. What have other teachers said about this course? “Interesting and lively. Good ideas that we can use in class – useful activities.” “What went well? All of it! The flow, the examples, the handouts, the interactivity. Lindsey is a great speaker.” “Very informative and enjoyable day. Good ideas to use for the future.” “I loved the way difficult concepts were explained.” |
